Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York will join multiple corporations and universities to develop a proposal for a regional clean energy hydrogen hub under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The multi-state agreement includes a group of 40 partners, including Columbia University, FuelCell Energy, National Grid, and New York Power Authority, and leaves room for additional state partners to join.
Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York will work to align the proposal with their own climate and clean energy goals and will work together to define plans for the regional hydrogen hub that will both advance green hydrogen innovation and improve the health, resiliency, and economy of the region. The states will make climate and environmental justice key components of the plan and develop a collaborative framework that will include details on minimizing greenhouse gases, integrating offshore wind and solar PV into the hydrogen production, and opportunities for hydrogen use in transportation and industry.
